Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and innovative AI Engineer to join our cutting-edge team at Dune Security. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and deployment of AI and machine learning models that power our User Adaptive Risk Management platform. This position is pivotal to advancing our mission of proactively addressing human risk—the leading cause of cybersecurity breaches.
As an AI Engineer, you will work at the intersection of data engineering, machine learning, and scalable backend development, leveraging advanced technologies to create impactful solutions for enterprise security. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-grade AI systems, optimize workflows, and integrate machine learning insights seamlessly into our platform. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking technology while shaping the future of AI-driven cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
AI and Machine Learning Development: Build, train, and deploy machine learning models using PyTorch, with a focus on NLP techniques and feature engineering.
Data Engineering and Workflows: Design, implement, and maintain ETL pipelines for batch and streaming data. Ensure data quality, optimize schemas, and develop secure workflows adhering to compliance standards.
Backend and API Development: Develop and optimize APIs in Python and Go for seamless integration with internal and external systems, while adhering to industry best practices for code quality and security.
Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps: Implement scalable solutions on AWS using services like SageMaker, S3, and data lakes. Develop CI/CD pipelines and leverage Docker and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
Data Analysis and Storage: Utilize SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB, to manage large-scale datasets effectively. Ensure efficient data processing and versioning.
Model Monitoring and Optimization: Establish ML experiment tracking systems, optimize hyperparameters, and ensure production models meet performance benchmarks. Monitor deployed models for drift and accuracy over time.
Collaborative Problem Solving: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify key challenges and deliver innovative AI-driven solutions. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
Qualifications
Core Expertise: Proficiency in Python and Go for production-level development, with a deep understanding of data engineering, including ETL pipelines, schema optimization, and data security.
Machine Learning Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with PyTorch, NLP techniques, feature engineering, and deploying models in production environments.
Data Management: Strong SQL skills, hands-on experience with Jupyter notebooks, and expertise in both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
Cloud and Infrastructure: Proven experience with AWS services, Docker containerization, and IaC tools such as Terraform. Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline development.
Development Practices: Expertise in version control with Git, API development, and adherence to documentation and testing best practices.
Nice-to-Have Skills: Knowledge of hyperparameter optimization, ML observability tools, large-scale data processing, and resource management for scalable AI systems.
