The NYC Department of Design and Construction utilizes advanced data analytics to drive efficiency. Several emerging technologies are being used to help transform how the Agency plans and delivers capital projects. DDCβs analytics efforts are undertaken in support of capital project delivery by identifying drivers of project performance and uncover correlations between project data. The Project Controls Division seeks a Data Science Manager to join our team.
With significant latitude for independent judgement, the candidate will manage a portfolio of data analytics projects and a team of specialists. Responsibilities include strategic planning for advanced data analytics; setting clear business goals for the data analytics efforts; providing guidance to team members in analyzing and interpreting large, complex datasets; providing guidance on use of statistical and AI techniques; leading development and monitoring performance of advanced analytical models and machine learning models; providing guidance on most suitable analytical and machine learning tools; evaluating findings on trends and patterns; collecting requirements and communicating insights to stakeholders Analysis includes include review of relevant historical data, including, but not limited to, schedules, cost, building information models, issues, and risk registers, of delay logs. Deliverables include visualizations such as chart and graphs or interactive tools to communicate insights.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position; or,
