The OpportunityGood Inside is looking for a strategically-minded, exceptionally organized Senior Platform Engineer to join our Platform team. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building scalable, maintainable and performant backend systems in Python. This role reports to the Head of Engineering and is a hybrid role with three days a week onsite at our office in Midtown Manhattan.
What You’ll OwnThe design, development and maintenance of all backend services as well as our Backend for Frontend abstraction layerConnecting and maintaining any 3rd party services that are essential to our businessAct as a resource for other engineers, as well as product managers regarding all things backendCollaborating with frontend engineers on how to best serve and visualize dataWriting and distributing clear documentation regarding architectural choices and processesFoster a collaborative and innovative team culture.Stay up-to-date with the latest technology in backend development, with a focus on scalability, and apply this knowledge to tackle complex problems in innovative ways.Facilitate effective communication between the development team and other departments.
Your Skills & Experience You have a Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experienceYou have 5+ years of development experience with a focus on performance, scalability and observability.You have 3 to 5 years of experience writing code in PythonYou have experience with frameworks like FastAPI, Flask and DjangoPrevious experience with data engineering is a big plusYou have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels within the organizationYou have exceptional attention to detail and project management skills and experience with tooling like Jira and Notion
